About CHAR Pizzeria

Char Pizzeria celebrates the craft of artisan pizza with a modern take on the Neapolitan tradition. Our dough is slow-fermented for flavor and lightness, baked in a high-heat oven for a perfectly charred, airy crust. We use premium Italian flours, San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and carefully selected toppings to create pizzas that are both authentic and innovative.

Our menu blends classic recipes with bold new combinations, paired with fresh salads, comforting pasta, and house-made desserts. Every bite reflects our passion for quality ingredients, handcrafted techniques, and a vibrant dining experience.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach CHAR Pizzeria at (470) 252-4863; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, charpizzeriahalcyon.com.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 135 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pizza restaurants in Alpharetta.

Pizza 6.7/10 - Nothing exciting and barely a few levels above your traditional fast food chain pizza in terms of size and flavor. It does have slightly better undercarriage than most pizza chains. For its name, it does not do the best job at providing a good char undercarriage on their pizzas. It can be hard to do if you don't have the right cooking equipment. Regardless, it is not a bad spot for a pizza if you're craving pizza while at the Halcyon.

"We keep coming back to Char Pizza at Halcyon because the food is consistently delicious and the service is incredibly attentive and friendly. Even when we come with a large group of 15+ family and friends, the pizza is ready in less than 15 minutes—perfect if you arrive hungry! The quality is top-notch. Their dough is fermented in-house, giving it the perfect consistency and chewiness while remaining very easy to digest. We’ve tried almost every pizza on the menu and they are all fantastic. My absolute favorite is the Truffle Wood (truffle white pizza), and my husband loves the 4 Porcelli, which is loaded with four different meats including sausage and pepperoni. I also highly recommend the Pepperoni Hot Honey or the Pistadella if you want something unique with pistachio and mortadella. If you're with a large group, definitely order a variety to taste the different options. Just make sure to save space for dessert—the homemade Tiramisu, Torta della Nonna and Cannolis are fresh and outstanding. We highly recommend this spot!"

I’ve waited to write this review because I wanted to come back a few times and make sure my first impression was consistent. I’ve now been about 5 times since Char Pizzería’s grand opening, and every visit has been outstanding! The food genuinely reminds me of what I’ve had in Italy. Not just the pizza, but also the sandwiches and the tiramisu! Everything tastes fresh, really well done, and you can taste the quality! I’ve even brought family who were visiting from out of town and they all loved it too. The customer service has always been friendly and the service is quick! They were helpful in explaining different options on the menu, and gave me great recommendations. Their new chicken pesto pizza is amazing! My other favorite pizzas are the pepperoni hot honey, La Passione, and the margherita pizza. Definitely better than any other pizzas spot in Alpharetta, and Atlanta! Safe to say I’ll be returning!!

TRUE Neapolitan style pizza in this little food court, and possibly one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. I’ve tried several notable pizza places all over Atlanta… Antico’s, Varasano’s, Varuni Napoli and have been fortunate enough to travel the world, including several times to Italy. And with all that said… I genuinely was shocked at how good this pizza was. If you like spicy and savory, the Brava is a must. Their Bianca was also incredible (more my fiance’s style of pizza than me), but the sauce on the red pizzas really brings such an amazing vibrancy and freshness that I can hardly suggest anything else!

Char Pizzeria Halcyon is a true gem in Atlanta’s dining scene. From the moment you walk up, you can feel the passion and care that Chef John Frank Cely and his team puts into every detail. His pizzas are nothing short of EXTRAORDINARY — perfectly blistered, balanced, and bursting with authentic Neapolitan flavor. Favorites like the spicy Brava, La Passione with meatballs and peppers, Margherita DOP, with bufala mozzarella and our favorite Pepperoni Hot Honey each bring their own personality — bold, refined, and unforgettable. The Truffle Wood Pizza, topped with mushrooms and caramelized onions, is pure indulgence and adds a rich, earthy depth that beautifully complements the menu. Even the Caesar and Rucola Salads stand out — crisp, bright, and elevated with the same attention to detail you’d expect from a truly chef-driven kitchen. To finish, the house-made Tiramisu and Cannoli were the perfect sweet finale to an exceptional meal. There was 6 of us and every bite at Char Pizzeria Halcyon reflects Chef John’s years of dedication and mastery as a pizzaiolo. It’s more than a restaurant — it’s a culinary experience that raises the standard for pizza in Atlanta. Highly recommended to
